Paws, Claws & Rock ’n’ Roll

 

At Rockin Rudys, music isn’t the only thing rocking the store. Our cats have been greeting customers, stealing lunches, and claiming sunny spots for over 35 years. Come meet the current crew—and remember the legends who ruled before them.

 

Jerry, a Grateful Dead fan

(2024 - present day)

The playful cat of many faces. A sweet orange kitty rescued from an abandoned trailer. Jerry loves causing havoc, sleeping and finding treats wherever he can. Watch your lunch, he may just try and sneak some! His favorite spots in the store are on the music department counter in the DVD grab bag crate, the gift department counter and the office for when he needs a break.

 

 

 

Jolene, A Dolly Parton gal 

(2019 - present day) 

A rescue kitty from a hard life, Jolene quickly adapted to her roles as the Queen of the castle. It took a little bit for her to warm up to the crowds, however now she blesses the store with her presence frequently throughout the day. If you don't see her roaming the store, she has retreated to her favorite spot hidden away in the attic.

 

 

Johnny, The Man in Black

(2019 - 2020)

Johnny, the OG Black Cat of Rockin Rudy’s. Jolene’s shadow and not so best buddy, the mischievous one. He, also a music lover, could be seen dusting vinyl with his tail or knocking stickers off the counter. He was infatuated with Jolene and made nonstop attempts to get her to play. Johnny and Jolene were adopted at the same time, however Johnny unfortunately passed after only a short time at Rudy’s.

 

 

Saul 

(2011-2018)

Saul was a wonderful store cat that took the job of night watchman very seriously. He loved to greet customers and follow the sunshine as it warms up the wood floors. A fond memory of Saul… if we didn’t close a jewelry case, he loved to lay on the jewelry boards and up against the glass, as if he was on display.  He was only with us for 7 years, much too short, however he touch many hearts during that time.

 

 

 

 

Bubba 
O.G. Rockin Rudy’s Cat 

(1991-2011)

Bubba is the original store cat AKA King Cat. He adopted us, not the other way around. Fun story actually. This guy showed up and never left. He reigned over Rockin Rudy’s for 20 years. He didn’t mess around and wasn’t afraid to tell you to hit the road if he wasn’t in the mood.
